(Subtle) Matrix Reference in Wanted?

I just got back from seeing Wanted (very entertaining movie), and I noticed what I think is a homage to the Matrix, while none of my friends picked it up. Granted, more or less the entire movie could be considered a homage to The Matrix, but this was a bit more subtle.

I'll try not to spoil anything, but when Wesley gets in (not on top of) the train to kill the person he's assigned, there is a shot where you see fields of green corn, and the camera swings to make the rows vertical, almost like the "matrix code". At the same time, there is a trumpet hit almost identical to the one used at important times in the matrix (can't really describe it better, but if you've seen the Matrix you'll recognize).

    Did anybody else notice this?

(I also saw vague references to Fight Club, Star Wars, Equilibrium, and Crank but that might just be me)

That's what I thought at first, but it seemed like too much of a coincidence for them both to occur at the same time, along with the fact that the cinematography of the movie was so strongly affected by the Matrix.

you bring up a good point Danls...

I'm going to check online or on Wikipedia to see if that was an intentional reference

There were two references, one I won't say due to spoilers, the other is when Morgan Freeman's character looks at him (and this one is a bit tenuous, it is more directly from Escape from L.A.) and says "I though you would be taller." The immediate impression I got was of Carrie Fischer's line, "Aren't a little short to be a stormtrooper" then I realized that it was actually a direct line from Escape from L.A.
