su: incorrect password ??? "alpine" term-vt100

    Ok I am having a problem doing anything in terminal...

    I cant even login using 'su root'

    What is going on?

    I installed suid libfix and the bsd 2.0 fix still nothing

    I got the same problem. You just can't login with root...
    But with SSH, you can login as root with the password of "alpine"

    I think it's because of the permission on Terminal itself...

    install a thing called the SUID Lib fix, look for it in installer and if you can't find it, look up the repo.

    Nope still incorrect password

    I can login via Putty or winscp... and it works fine :/

    yes, these are totally different things though. Did you install the SUID Lib fix?

    I am in the same boat, installed all the fixes that have been suggested, but when i try to login via terminal it keeps showing up as incorrect password. I have been trying to set permissions for folders but it keeps saying operation not permitted. i even went so far as to uninstall and reinstall the fixes.

    just execute the things in winscp or putty, its alot easier and it lets u log in :p

    I guess it was a bad idea to post real problems while 2.0 is being released :D
