Stumbler??

    When i use stumbler to search for a hidden network i find many hidden networks that are open with the SSID as <hidden> and i am just wondering is there anyway of connecting to these hidden networks i find??

    No, they are hidden because the person who made them made them hidden. I don't know how you would connect to these.

    I don't know how correct this info i will tell right now is but the developer of stumbler was thinking to hack those hidden, unprotected internets. However, it's still under development. And now it's used as wi-fi locator

    But wouldn't that be included with the WEP cracker, because when you look at the info of the wireless network it says it has encription.

    I would Like it to include a WEP cracker but atm i just want to be able to connect to these hidden networks

    Like I said before it isn't possible. Just buy a router.

    In most w-lan routers there is an option to enable/disable the SSID which stands
    for the Network name.

    If u disable the SSID the Network name wont be broadcastet so you would have
    to enter BOTH - the network name and the wep/wpa passwort to connect to it.

    I own a router its for when im out i pick up alot of open "hidden" wireless networks and i was just wondering if there was a way to connect to them

    If you can get a laptop there, there are tools available to sniff the network name, then you can enter it manually and (probably, if its open), connect.

    search for netstumbler on google. Sometimes it will bring up the SSID. If it doesnt you will have to try something more complex.

    Ok but is there no way of putting this as an extension in stumbler or something??
