Stuck with Preparing ipod for restore

    I have done everything and am now restoring my ipod with the pwnd firmware or whatever and its been at "preparing ipod for restore" for ten minutes now...thats not right, right? what should I do

    it may be backing up your files or itunes just sucks!

    Just leave it!

    Or exit iTunes. And Try again!

    Try putting your iPod into DFU Mode.

    ya, it's in DFU mode and in White screen already.
    Now I either try in XP or MAC, it still same.

    The bar is moving in Preparing ipod for restore.. but it seem 'death' there. just keep on running wihtout proceeding...

    help!!

    i got the exact same problem, it keeps preparing for restore then it errors with a 13/1611/1603/04

    ^ Hope you've upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. If that does not work, try rebooting your machine & then restoring. If that fails, try using another USB port or even another machine.

    What the said.
    Make sure you have itunes 8.2
    Also make sure you using a GUI program you cant just go restore to a custom firmware without a gui running because it is not signed by apple.
