iOS 4.0 stuck on itunes connect picture

    hi all, can anybody please help me or point me in the right direction.i have iphone 3gs oldbootrom.i jailbroke it on 4.01 with jailbreakme.com. everything was great until today im stuck in recovery mode and itunes only gives the option to upgrade. i saved files with cydia for 4.0 and 4.01 but itunes still says not compatible. can anyone help me please?

    so your on AT&T right?

    Edit your hosts file to redirect to Sauriks server. Theres a guide around here. And that will allow you to restore to 4.0 or 4.0.1.

    thanks man for quick reply, i am on 02. i have the original sim so its no prob. i directed the server as below but it still says incompatible. im afraid to do the easy thing and upgrade to 4.02 then try downgrade because if im having these probs now it may be even worse if im stuck on 4.02.thanks again for any help.

    just one more thing if i open tiny umbrella and click display shsh it says" iphone3g 4.0.1(8a306)-1069615910263. i just noted it says 3g not 3gs is this important or is tiny umbrela irrelevant in my case?

    i got the problem solved. i downloaded 4.01 for iphone 3g and that worked. now my question is why are my files saved as 3g? when i restore itunes says ive a 3gs. when i go too about iphone in settings it says 3gs. any ideas?

    Download TinyUmbrella, and when it downloads, just open it, plug your iPhone in, and tell it to kick your iPhone out of Recovery Mode.
