    Hey there

TRACKBACK FROM THIS THREAD, MOVED HERE DUE TO CHANGE- Link

If you've read the link, then you'll know what sort of a pickle I'm in.

    But it just got worse.

I am stuck on the horror that is...

    1.1.1 (ahh!)

I can JailBreak 1.1.1 fine, it's just when I want to OktoPrep or upgrade to 1.1.2 that I get-

"iTunes" The iPod "iPod" could not be updated. A unknown error occured. (5)
    "iPod" Recovery screen of death

I can iBrikr out, but then I'm back at 1.1.1, no matter how many times I try.

Startling discovery- I can't even restore to 1.1.2! Same ol' Error 5.

I could use ZiPhone to JailBreak at 1.1.2, but I can't even get in! Help!

P.S I have tried 1.1.2.ipsw images from EVERYWHERE. So don't say it's a bad .ipsw.

P.P.S Please READ THE TRAKBAK LINK for more info, Nothing there helped, not even page 2, because the 1.1.1 -> 1.1.2 jailbreak looks like a odd structure for a .app.

P.P.P.S I'm asleep for the next 12 hours

I am having the exact same error messages. I can update/restore to anything BUT 1.1.3, though. It's one thing for this not to be working or unstable when jailbreaking, but it's pretty damn annoying when you are legitly using itunes to update and you can't. Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a complete loss as to why I can't use iTunes to update.

noooo that's what i'm trying not to do. I think. Is that method a soft-upgrade like all the others? I want to upgrade the firmware, too, not just piss-around with the software (which seems to make thing a whole lot less stable, imho). That's why I like ZiPhone since you actually upgrade it with iTunes.

I can't. I've tried it, but it just crashes when it's flashing the mem, restarts, and is still on 1.1.1.

Anyways, I need to be on 1.1.2 to go to 1.1.4. Ideas?
