HOW TO GET OUT OF RECOVERY MODE

    1. Turn your iPod on

    2. Put your iPod in DFU mode
(REALLY EASY BUT READ BEFORE YOU DO IT):

    - Make sure your iPod is connected to the computer.
    - Hold Both the 'Power Button' and the 'Home Button' for 10 seconds. Get Ready to release ONLY the 'Power Button'.
    - Release the 'Power Button' but keep on holding the 'Home Button' for Another 10 Seconds.
    - When you hear that your iPod is connected to your computer and iTunes says that your iPod is in restore mode, release the 'Home Button'.
    - You should end up with a Black iPod screen.

*To see if you are really in DFU mode, hold the 'Power Button' for 10 seconds. If nothing happens, your in DFU mode.

    3. Restore your iPod through iTunes by selecting your iPod in the Devices pannel (on the left) and...

    - If you want iTunes to download your iPod firmware, just click Restore but...

    - If you downloaded your Firmware from somewhere else, hold SHIFT, and click on Restore. Then find and select your downloaded firmware (I provided a very convenient Download source for firmwares at the top)

    4. When your iPod is Restoring, it should go through this process:
    - White Screen
    - Apple Logo
    - Apple Logo with loading bar
    - Apple Logo with loading bar [Again]
    - Restored iPhone/iPod Touch

*Scroll a bit down if you encounter an error message that is something like this: "iPod 'iPod' could not be restored. An unknown error occurred"*

    5. Enjoy your new Restored iPod!

    IPOD RESTORE ERRORS

'iPod 'iPod' could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (13) [FIX]'

This Error has something to do with the USB port your ipod is plugged into.

If you encounter this error do try the following:

    - If you are connected to your computers FRONT USB ports, change it to connect to the BACK USB Ports.

    - Try to Restore your iPhone/iPod on a DIFFERENT computer (Try to get a Windows XP computer).

    - Unplug your USB, blow your port and plug it back in (could be dusty lol).

    - If your iPod USB connection is plugged into the computer through a USB adapter, unplug it and connect it DIRECTLY to the computer.

'iPod 'iPod' could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (2005) [FIX]'

This Error also has something to do with the USB port your ipod is plugged into.

If you encounter this error do try the following:

    - Plug your iPod into a different USB port.

    - Plug your iPod into one of your computers BACK USB Ports.

    - Unplug your USB, blow your port and plug it back in.

Hopefully that worked for you because it worked for me

Already tried a restore numerous times.

After I restore to 4.0, it goes straight back into recovery mode.

OK downgrading to 3.1.2 works since it's not a signed firmware
