I successfully jailbroke my 16G touch using ziphone. After installing a couple apps and going to my home screen, my ipod got stuck in an endless "refresh" sign. When I restart, it gives me the boot screen and then the same endless circling loading sign. Now iTunes won't recognize it and I can't get it to enter recovery mode. Any suggestions?

Hold power and home until it turns off, let go of power but hold home for a few seconds, let go of home and rehold until into proper mode. Use advanced on Ziphone to kick into recovery mode. I would apply the 1.1.4 App Compatibilty Patch ASAP! Get ehre and I will send you other files you need to install.

The problem is, Ziphone will search for my ipod, but not be able to find it. Have I managed to brick it? Neither iTunes, nor ziphone recognizes it.

Hi. Are you referring to "1.1.4 Compatibility Patch" found under Twaeks(1.1.4)?
I installed it on my jailbroken 1.1.4 and found out afterwards that my firmware version returned to 1.1.3. After unistalling it, it returned to 1.1.4 though.

I had the same issue. Fixed!
Try this (from ziphone's troubleshooting readme):

    B) Full Hardware DFU (required for downgrades):
Note that using a cable instead of the dock may make it easier to press
buttons in the following steps without losing the connection.

    1) Start iTunes and plug the phone in.
    2) With the phone powered on, hold both the POWER and HOME buttons for
seven seconds. The screen should turn black.
    3) Wait two seconds while the screen is black and release the POWER button
while still holding the HOME button.
    4) The screen will remain black, but after a few more seconds iTunes will
detect the phone in recovery mode.
    5) Release the HOME button and proceed to restore firmware with iTunes.

Timing is fairly important on this. If your phone reboots or ends up in
recovery mode, just try again. You might want to look at a clock that shows
seconds while you do this. The timing needs to be exact for it to work.

If you enter this mode by mistake, hold the HOME and POWER buttons for
seven seconds until you see the Apple logo and immediately release both
buttons. The phone should reboot normally, assuming a valid firmware image
    is present on the phone.

Just for future reference, if you prefer not to force it by pressing the hardware buttons, you can also allow your battery life to fully run out. Once it does, plug it into iTunes and it will allow you to restore your iPod.

The easiest way to force restore is the link in my signature. No timing required.
