I cant find answers anywhere. This is my dilemma.

I previously jailbreaked and unlocked my friend's 3.1.3 iphone with spirit and ultrawsn0w. When he took it home, he decided to restore it using iTunes 9.2 (trying to erase media off the iphone). Now he is stuck in a bootloop with the apple logo and a spinning wheel.

I tried using irecovery but get:

I try to put it in DFU mode and held home and sleep button for ten seconds until screen flashed and went black. But same error.

    Any solution?
