    Hello all,

    Earlier today I installed NoRotation on my 1g iPod Touch. I run 2.2.1 and I'm guessing that NoRotation is only a 3.x app. My iPod is stuck at the boot logo. I have searched the internet all day and have not found anything that relates to my problem. I have been able to SSH and try to locate the /Application file, but NoRotation is not there, so I can't do a quick delete of it and then just reboot. I am wondering if there is a way to find the NoRotation file, delete it, and then reboot my iPod unharmed. This has happened to me before, but I have always ended up resetting the iPod and rejailbreaking, but I have so much unbacked up stuff that I can't risk doing that. Help?

    See if you can get into the file system with iFunBox (An SSH program) and do this:

    Navigate to: /var/mobile/Library/SBSettings/Toggles/Rotation
    and delete "Toggle.dylib"

    I can get to /var/mobile/Library/SBSettings/Toggles, but there is not folder called Rotation in there

    @RoosterPandemic

    that's only if he had the sbsettings toggle installed.

    @aaagoalie

    What is the stuff that is not backed up that you wish to save? Taking them from SSH can save those files. Like Music, Apps...

    well I dont want to lose all of my jailbreak apps and all of the music that I have bought from iTunes.app that I haven't synced to my computer yet. And if I were to reset it, I would lose all of my videos because I deleted them from iTunes on my computer so I could have more memory on my computer.

    Well, can you go into var/stash/Applications?? If so, just delete NoRotation.app

    If I understand correctly, It stays on the boot logo, right?

    If so, do this.

    Through i-Funbox, go to

    /var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/Music

    Now, there will be a bunch of encrypted folders and inside them your Music mp3/wav/whatever and Video files, you will have to pull the ENTIRE Music folder to back up your Music!

    As for jailbroken apps...

    Navigate to /var/stash/Applications.XXXXXX (The X's will be random letters/numbers)

    And backup all the apps (besides Cydia and the apps that come with the iPod, [Calculator.app, AppStore.app, etc] You will have to set permissions after a restore and re-jailbreak to make these apps work!

    As for iTunes apps, It's a little complicated, after a restore, you'll have to re-jailbreak and then SSH the apps in, and set permissions for the folders...

    Navigate to...

    /var/mobile/Applications

    Inside there will be folders of random names, those are your AppStore Apps.

    Hope I helped.

    well every 5 or so minutes, my ipod will reboot. so idk if an ssh would be able to back all of that up without my ipod restarting and forcing me to start over.
