Hey everybody, I was very happy to update my iPod touch 3G 32GB today after I came out of school at 3 PM, well the problem is there. I have been in "backing up" iPod for SIX hours! Is that normal?

No that is not normal. Mine takes five minutes TOPS. Hit the x next to the progress bar and try backing up again.

There doesn't seem to be an x next to this back up. I put to install the update, and it automatically opens a new little window with a progress bar saying it's backing up that makes it so you can't even touch iTunes, the only way to quit it is to end task. (I am on Windows 7)

Thank for the help, but I just now decided to just restore my iPod and then update to 4.0 to make it easier. Thanks!

I went to sleep and woke back up and now it is finished so I think backing up and updating shared the same progress bar :/ but my iPod is filled with 7 pages of apps so that's why I think it took so long
