Basically i sent my ipod touch 2g off to be fixed because it was bricked as water got inside it but the detector in the headphone jack hadnt been activated.

when i sent it off it was jailbroken and i got it back today unjailbroken with a new shell but still some of the jailbreak mods (boss prefs, blanks etc) were active.

Why/How did this happen, and why did they still fix it when its obvious to see that it was jbroken?

What Apple Did was backup your old iPod.

When they gave you the new one, they restored to that backup.
The backup still carried SOME of the jailbroken things.

And FYI, blanks are just safari bookmarks, with a blank icon.

all that had to do though was turn it on and see that it was jailbroken?
