I tried jailbreaking the ipt3 people said it would be tethered and im fine with that.. after it rebooted. It was just black. I new it was ok cause i have unlocked and jailbroken alot of iphods. So i tried restoring. Its a Ipt3 3.1.2 IT WOULDNT RESTORE to 3.1.2 ipt3!!! So i thought.. The freak.. Maybe its a ipt2? but its model was a MC so i new the jailbreak probally would f me over. IT completly took out my ipod. But its ok. I opend it in open disk. and i manually installed the ipsw... took me all night.. wasnt my ipod either.. Sigh

There is NO software that you can run that will "take out your iPod"... DFU is stored in ROM, you will always be able to restore...

From the sounds of things you have an 8GB model. You'd think that someone would search before hacking their expensive device. If you did, you would find:

    1. You can't jailbreak it.
    2. If you try, you will fail. And have to restore. No "probably".
    3. That people would just get pissed off by a ranting post about how it's not their fault.

    But it is.
