I have a late 2G model, it runs okay, iOS4 doesn't seem QUITE up to par with it, but it's okay. I heard about the wide viewing angle, and the .7 megapixel camera, which brought me down a bit. However, beyond these limitations, the A4 Chip and the Gyroscope will be good for gaming and battery am I correct? So, I am not quite sure if I should get this, or get a few new video games that are coming out around the same time as the 4G. I dunno, it might not be a good idea to post HERE on iPod Touch Fans

There are quite a lot of post on this topic. Yes, it has loads of new feature, if you got the money to spare, why not? I'm too upgrading from 2g to 4g. And 2g is lossing support for certain games and apple is slowly giving up support on 2g

Ipt 4G has 4 times more RAM than the 2G (512 Mb vs 128 Mb)
Ipt 4G has 2 times faster CPU speed than the 2G (1Ghz vs 500Mhz)
Ipt 4G has 4 times bigger screen resolution than the 2G (Retina display)
Ipt 4G has front and back cameras (2G does not)
Ipt 4G has voice recording (2G does not)
Ipt 4G has Gyroscope (2G does not)

I think u can make your decision from here

I'm getting a new one. my iPod is 2 years old: 2G 8 gb.
I'm an avid gamer in my free time. plus my 8 gb model can fit very little. ihave only some much memory to cover the large games. 128 mb seems small compared to 512 on the new one. also I take advanced art classes and I need a small good camera for small sketches. really the upgrades are worth it.I really think you should buy one.

I'm in the same boat except I've got an iPad, I've also got the money for the iPod 4 but I'm wondering if I should get it or spend the £200 on iPad accessories ?

I'd say go for it, especially since you have the 2G. I'm upgrading from a 3G, but i still think the upgrade is more than worth it.

For me, it is mostly the A4 and retina display. Facetime is a bonus, but never was necessary.

And what's wrong with the .7 mpx camera?? Number of megapixels doesn't determine the quality of the picture, but the size. It has nothing to do with the size.

    I haven't decided yet.

If there's any truth to the rumored 7" iPad, then that's what I want.

A 7" device should still be small enough to fit in my pocket, yet offer 4x the screen space. It should have enough space left over for more memory and a larger battery.

It would combine the best of the iPod Touch and the iPad into a single, much more portable device.
