iOS 3.1 Still on 3.1.1 - is it still possible to go to 3.1.2?

So, I have had my IPT -3g since Oct'09, and really do love it. When i purchased it, it was still just before 3.1.2, and thus i jailbroke it on 3.1.1 .

Recently however, I have noticed that there are times that hitting the home button does not wake the ipod from sleep (hitting it again generally gets her going). I am thinking that this is the sleep issue that is mentioned is fixed in 3.1.2, but now I am wondering - can i actually get 3.1.2 anymore?

The other thing is - if i do find it and upgrade it, I will lose all my customizations, correct? This was mostly my reasoning for not bothering with 3.1.2 when it came out, but now with the sleep issue...

    Anyway, thanks for any advice!

I dont believe it is possible to go to 3.1.2 anymore without the SHSH backups in Cydia. What did 3.1.2 fix anyway?

No, you don't need the SHSH sigs backed up in Cydia, that's only to downgrade. If you update/restore using iTunes, then it'll force you to update to 3.1.3. But if you have the 3.1.2 firmware file, then you can shift+restore to that firmware. And yes, you will lose everything.

    1. Connect your iPod and right click on it on iTunes and click Back Up
    2. When it has synced, click on the iPod on the sidebar. Click Shift+Restore and select the downloaded file. It should now update.
    Hope this helps you!

It won't work cause first of all, he has a 32 gig without SHSH backed up, and second, he needs 2G firmware not 3G firmware.

    He's not downgrading though, he's wants to go from 3.1.1 > 3.1.2, not 3.1.3 > 3.1.2.
