Is there no way to save you app data so you can recover app settings, game saves and such after recovering? I dont have a jailbroken iPod touch.. I think its absolutely ridiculous that apps arent backed up when you sync with iTunes... So is there another way? I mean theres a million freakin apps, someone must have made an app for save files...?

    thanks

edit: My problem is that I have quite a lot apps and I want to sell my ipod so I can buy the new iphone.. but it would just suck to have to start over in all my games and to set the settings in some apps again

antilol to the max. If I jailbreak my unbought iphone can I then back up app data easily? I know I will most likely have to SSH into the iphone but is it just copying one folder from there or is there more to it?

Creating a backup in iTunes will backup all your game settings and saves. As well as your other iPod touch settings.

I think so. They basically use the same operating system, iPhone OS.

Note that I said "I think so" so I'm not 100% sure. Don't go blaming me if it doesn't work ! iTunes is very restrictive with libraries and such.
