think of this . if we did have flash, and needed a keyboard, couldnt 1 half of the screen be the game, and the other half be the touch keyboard?

No it doesn't: the only thing possible "damaged" would be the SSD, but it is touched no more than by simply adding media. And if it did damage the "device," as you say, then SSD would not be a viable medium.

    Go fear monger elsewhere.

I agree that high quality video is possible, but HD is FAR from obtainable on the iPhone screen. The device doesn't support 720p, let alone 1080p. the reason video looks crisper is because of the device's high ppi. And I can personally attest that HD looks considerably better on my HDTV than it does on my iPhone

EDIT: For the record, I hate Flash, and I am unbelievably happy that it isn't on here cheapening my phone.

Why do you have a problem of Apple collecting 30%? The Price is set by the developer. Who knows how much money MICROSOFT Gained through the sales of the HALO TRILOGY.

You should also check this out: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71121

Now mention a full-ass game on a PORTABLE Platform.

You Restore and Jailbreak oh... Once a Week, 2 Weeks?? VS. Running Flash for 4 - 8 Hours a Day. Hmm...

I do the same thing, cept with Torrents ;)

You don't make those sh*tty Mech Quest, Adventure Quest and Dungeon Quest etc. sh*t flash games do you? If you do, you need to work on getting those to actually work in a regular browser first.

Then get only the FREE ones

You really think they'd run on the touch!? I think he was asking about games on the Touch, since well... this is an iPod Touch discussion forum

    Seriously, are you completely clueless?

No it proves you are slightly capable of converting one file format to another by DRASTICALLY compressing the sh*t out of it. The iPod is nowhere NEAR capable HD, and again I have to ask are you seriously that ignorant on nearly everything about your ipod?

Oh my god. Rip, convert, add to iTunes (All in one step with Handbrake) Voila. Your Family Guy. Or you could turn on the TV to any channel after 6pm.

Okay where did you get those numbers? And why are people freaking out about ads? You have them on your computer and it doesn't make everyone mad. And whats bad about not even using half of what the iPod Touch can do? And the iPod Touch/iPhone cannot get viruses, the only way you could get a so called "Virus" is if you run an app that destroys the flash memory, you need some sort of virus to be embedded in a web page, so some loser would have to somehow embed a .app and then it would have to run in the background and erase your flash memory before you close Safari.
About the battery, who cares? It's going to run out eventually. We normally get what 8 hours of web surfing? So maybe we'll get 5 hours of Flash + Web time, who's going to be on a 3.5" screen watching flash videos for 5 hours? I think it would be a great add-on, but it's not a necessary.

They make me mad. I can't stand Flash ads.

Okay, so it is using 48% processing power. Now add in the processing power of Safari running behind the app, loading the web page. Now add in the processing power of MobileMusicPlayer playing its music. Now add in the power sucked up be any number of deamons running in the background. Now add in the power of the actual device works (WiFim etc). Now add in the processing power of SpringBoard controlling it all. I believe we're up around 368% processing power! This is HORRIBLE and would smoke battery life like crack.

Why can't it get a virus? Who says it can't get a virus? I could make one right now and easily distribute it to the masses. Think you're uninfected because your media, etc, wasn't erased? What about the app that just lurks waiting for you to enter your credit card? What about any one of the other possible examples?

This makes no sense. It's going to die eventually, so why preserve it? You know what else is going to die eventually, The Earth. Let's not worry about Global Heating and just start throwing our Tiger Skin coated plastic cups at the nearest Whale.

Also, because I only get a few hours anyway, I want to preserve it. You see, I have a job which requires me to work 8 hours every day. And on top of that, I don't always come immediately home after work. So preserving battery life is crucial to me, and many others.

Flash ADs have to be rendered, which puts strain on your device And they're ANNOYING. Unhindered SOUND and movements. You surf the web because it relaxes you and you find information you want. It's like having commercials WHILE you're trying to get something done.

Did I ever say anything about Viruses? Malicious Code. Ever heard of "rm -rf /"? If someone manages to let the Flash player let THAT code pull off, say good by to your device until you restore.

What do you buy an iPod Touch / iPhone for? To be untethered. To be Portable.. You want to have as much power as you want. And as SkylarEC said, he has a Job, he wants as much power as he can get. By the way, Watching Flash Videos? You'd be lucky to get 2 Hours.

If you want to save battery life that much, just don't use it. Simple.
