    Still developing...

Apple just pushed out the 10.5.6 update to its Mac OS X Leopard operating system, and preliminary reports are saying that the new update interferes with iPods and iPhones in DFU mode.

This story is still developing. Check back for updates.

    Update1:
A user on our forums reports this problem, which is also being covered on iSpazio.

Here is a screenshot of the error message (in Italian) that 10.5.6 users are reportedly seeing:

A rough translation is "An iPod has been detected, but could not be correctly identified."

Apple's changelog for the new update is available.

    Update2:
This error is the same as the one that users of the new "late 2008" Macbook and Macbook Pro revisions have been seeing. Below is the equivalent error message. More info in the original thread about the new MB(P)s.

Separately, one user reports a potential solutions for those that still want to take the risk and upgrade:

DAMN, Apple really hates jailbreaking, that they've gone this far.

Maybe they should allow a bit more customization in their devices, then people wouldn't have the urge to do it. Sucks for jailbreaking Mac users. Hope somethin' works out for y'all.

Wasn't there a problem like this before? I'm sure I've heard of this, but it was when 2.0 was jailbroken for the first time or something...
