There's some criticism that there aren't enough stuck threads on the forums or that the ones we have are not updated, outdated or irrelevant.

If you have seen or created a useful thread then post your sticky requests here or report any outdated / irrelevant stuck threads you come across and the mods will have a look.

    Thanks.

Hm...so I believe I was one of the members who wanted this thread to be made, but I'm not quite sure how it should work appropriately. So I'll just post in a format I feel is appropriate.

Request for this thread to be stickied: http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=295217
Reason: A lot of users (especially newer users) have iPod Touch 3g's, and I know as one myself, I check the iOS 4.0 section to see if any jailbreak announcement has been made yet and there's not a dedicated thread made for the status on iPod Touch 3g jailbreak. Most people don't see the subject (iOS4 ipt3 status) in the stickies and just make their own thread, which quickly receives a "no not yet" reply and becomes inactive, so if that thread that actually has a bit of activity could be stickied so members can see that it has been posted about, it'll probably save some room.

Thanks for the heads-up. I went ahead and stickied it.

And yes, your format is fine.

There's already a "Post Your Wallpaper" thread in Themes and Customization. The above thread was created before the second-gen jailbreak, when the only way to customize your lock screen was to use specially formatted wallpapers. This problem has now been solved and there's no need for two separate threads.

It seems to me that this thread would be more appropriate either in the Releases section or as part of the "Theme Forum Rules" sticky.

This thread is stickied in both the main Themes and Customization forum and in the Customization Tutorials and Help forum.

No 3g jailbreak yet, a lot of unhappy upgraders, so the downgrade thread'll be needed. Also, should that also be moved to the iOS 4.0 section? I know that's where I looked first for it.

@Sarcasm Siempre, my theme installation tutorial was originally only in the tutorials section, Manic Nimrod copied/moved it out because he felt it would get more views out in the general Themes section, and the discussion would go on in the tutorials section. Not saying one shouldn't be deleted, just saying that there's a reason for there being two.

Feel like I need to say this early, but I feel Sarcasm Siempre's format is the best. Just saying, it seems to be neat and I like the format.

    And I agree:

Makes sense. Never mind then. Perhaps the one in the general section should be locked and the discussion rerouted to the one in the tutorial section, or vice-versa, so that said discussion doesn't become split up among two threads?

This topic was written way back in the 1.1.x days when everyone was creating their own Installer repo. Creating a Cydia repo is much more complex and very few people are going to want to do it. In fact, I haven't seen a single user asking how to do it or posting about their new repo that they just created. I don't think this sticky's needed anymore.

Spoonforknife's SSH tutorial is much more recent, goes into much more detail, has much more discussion, and is stickied in the same forum as this one.

I didn't see any other tutorials in this website on how to fix an iPod Touch having boot issues, so I made one. I think it will help people that think their iPod Touch/iPhone is 'bricked' and other startup issues. I would also like a title change, because it looks like from the post that I am having start up issues.
Maybe append [HowTo] or [Tutorial] to the title?
