    Hi
This is my problem: i bought a jivo fm transmitter, that comes with an usb socket, supposedly to charge any usb device. well, i used a universal wall charger, set to 12v and with the correct polarity with the 12v socket, which should be used with the car lighter. the transmitter worked fine, but when i connected the ipod touch to the usb socket, the ipod just stopped working, the pc doesn't detect it, no reset will work, and the screen is plain black.
    need help, please!

If I read it correctly, you now have a fancy paper weight. I did something like this a couple years ago to my 1g and it well... fried it, started making weird noises, vibrating and got extremely hot. You most likely fried the guts. Nothing can be done about this but buy a new one (I highly doubt Apple will do anything for you).

    With my condolences,
    FEAR

I suggest you throw your ipod at a wall to see if you can get any apps or songs to fall out since its dead and not much you can do with it now. sorry dude, owe ya, please make a video so we can see what happens.

Can't do it, pressing home and power just won't do anything :S
but mine won't do anything, it's kinda dead, screen is off, no sound, buttons won't work...
yeah, i called apple, i just wasted my time
that's the problem, nothing happens!! it would just be a video of an ipod not turning on, not resetting, not getting into dfu, it's, quoting xitz your fearx, a paper weight.

    thanks to everyone

nope, the warranty has passed, and even if it wasn't, it would be void because:
    a)jailbreak
b)using it with a probably non certified device

If the warranty hadnt passed, they wouldnt be able to tell it was jailbroken, since it is fried, and you could say it was a pre-approved apple transmitter or whatever.
