Is it ok if i use steel wool to buff out the scratches on my ipod? and then use a metal buffer to make it spotless? the problem is that the ipod would get uber hot on the metal, hot enough to burn you after using the buffer and im guessing thats bad...

steel wool would just make really deep scratches, try something like sand paper, the metal buffer would probly be a good idea tho.

Dont use steel wool, find a buffing compound and use a cloth to rub it

After you get the scratches out, check out xpel.com
You can get a small roll of the plastic film for like $4. Get a template (I have one for the 3g if you want, the back of the ipod should be similar) and cut it to size. Works just like the invisible shield and WAY cheaper.
