    Hello,

I have done a few Cydia updates today that I haven't done in a while. My iPod touch needed to reboot, so I let it. Now, it wouldn't turn on. Starts up with the Apple logo but then crashes to the black screen again. I CAN get it in the recovery mode though, but I have VERY, VERY important information there. So please let me know, if I can somehow get it to boot up without restoring.

    Thanks!

By "crashing to black screen" do you mean the screen goes black or that the screen turns off?

It just turns off. The Apple logo stays for ~20 seconds and then shuts down...

same thing happened to me, I couldn't find a way to do it. so i restored, you might be able to get recuva to find it if you can get one of the programs that uses the ipod as a flash drive to work on your OS, I tried doing it on my main PC and I couldn't find anything that worked for 64bit win7 but maybe on xp.

Try going into recovery mode and using iRecovery to get out of it. I haven't used it myself, but I've heard it's reliable...

seems promising, I would give iRecovery a shot, kinda wished I had known of it a couple days ago.
