At the time of writing, there are no moderators currently online.
Is anyone in support of appointing 'Standby' Moderators? These would be users who would have Moderatorship abilities, but only when there are no others available. Any changes they make would be put on some sort of waiting list, for a full Moderator to review, then deny or approve.
Is this a good idea? Do we just need more moderators? Or is it a rare occasion that no Moderators are online?

That is pretty pointless, as they may be the first to come across a bad post when other mods are on. I do agree that we need 3-5 mods though.

I think it happens very rarely. I noticed that as well today. Good idea IMO.

It was just a concept I suddenly thought of, no harm in suggesting!

Meikura did say that they've got quite a lot of work to do (

), so maybe more moderators are needed.

Its not needed. Even if there are no moderators on, then one will be on within the next half an hour at least.

If you see a post that needs cleaning. Quickly. (such as a porn spambot or w/e)

You could try to email a moderator. You should be able to get the email from their profile.

That way, if they are online, but not currently on iptfs, then they should get the email via popup, and come and sort it.

Remember, report and move on. ;P

I've been online since 4:40pm (2 hours ago from now) Manic would normally be on, but he was away today.

Thanks, been waiting for some 'official' input. I'm guessing that it's pretty uncommon to have no moderators online.

There are times when no moderators are online and rules are violated, and it can be frustrating to members.

However, the staff covers a lot of times zones, for the most part, there is usually someone online.

Also, There are some Moderators that appear as "Invisible" Such as "SkylarEC" and "SpoonForKnife" so even at times when you think nobody is on, There may be.

    This.

Also, this IS a very good idea, but I don't think the gain we would get from it would justify the technical effort required to get something like this working well. We will re-evaluate the idea in the future as the site continues growing.
