    I have CuteFTP, and a Jailbroken iPod Touch (2.0). I do the same thing I did with the others:

    Name=iPod Touch
    Host Address=The iPod Touch's IP Address.
    Name=root
    Pass=alpine

    After you install open ssh, make sure and reboot as well. Then you should be able to ssh into your iPod.

    Make sure you are using Cute FTP PRO. Regular Cute FTP won't work.

    And it has to be the SFTP Protocol. Use WinSCP. Which nearly everyone here uses and is Free.

    If you preinstalled it with your firmware you should reisntall it with Cydia as that fixed my SSH.

    I would just use Winscp. I like it more than CuteFTP. and just install openSSH from cydia.

    I had the same problem yesterday and this is how I got it to work:

    Install OpenSSH > Restart iPod Touch > Connect via SSH

    Btw, use WinSCP. It's a lot better than CuteFTP Pro (as in it's free and easy to use). Does everything that you need it to do.

    Check your iPod's IP again. It changes after a restore.

    If you're waiting for about a minute and you think it doesn't work, it could still be generating key pairs for the secure connection. A 400mhz processor isn't great at that.
