I am wanting to send some videos to my Iphone with SSH, which folder do they go in?
you put them in var/mobile/media/itunes- somthing that. But you wont be able to play them with the mediia player. You need avplayer.
You can't. They won't be recognized by the videos application, and you won't be able to open them.
Your best bet is just SSHing then into a folder made especially for them (IE /var/mobile/Videos) and then open them through MobileFinder (2.0), vlc4iphone (2.0), or going through MobileFinder on 1.1.4 and telling it to open in AVPlayer.
Thanks for the info, I have looked for vlc4iphone in installer but can't see it, what is the repos?
Are you on 1.1.4?
If so, you need to install "MobileFinder" from Installer, and then install "AVPlayer" as well. Then, look through MobileFinder until you find the videos folder you made, and then select the file, and tell it to "open with...." and select AVPlayer.
Yep, I am on 1.1.4

i used this free program i came across... it ssh's your videos automatically to the right folder. Then I just play them from Videos.
what program did you use?
just to let you guys know this thread is from 2008, and they are talking about iphone OS 1, in order for it to work, the program has to mess with what ever tells your ipod what videos are on it, some .plist maybe, i don't know. besides usb transfer would be a hell of a lot faster
And just to let you know most people will flame you for bumping such an old thread, I don't mind because if you make your own, everyone says that there are hundreds just like it. good luck
im only asking bcuz i wanted to see if i could recieve a video file from a friend via iBlueNova and access it thru my video folder. i hate having to watch it thru iFile.
