Is it possible?
It's possible, but you won't be able to watch them through the Videos app. You'll need some jailbroken app like VLC4iPhone or something like that. Even then, it's really crappy. When I used it, it was slow, choppy, and the sound was messed up.
Can you tell me how you did it?
Well, you just SSH the videos wherever you want. Download the app, run it and locate the videos. I think that's it. I don't really remember because I deleted it quite quickly.
The easiest way to do it
its to ssh the video to i.e var/mobile/media/(you can create a video folder)
The get iFile from cydia and you can watch any videos you want with it
They said that, that didn't work.
what type of formats are usable?? does it do avi's other than just MP4s?
Of course it works, he was talking about the crappy VLC 4 iphone app that app is awful
iFile plays flawlessly mp4 and 3gp videos

mostly MP4 and 3GP :/
yxflash though plays flv and avi on iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3
Download the dTunes app.
Then SSH the video file to this directory:
Now just open dTunes and tap the movie file. It should play normally without lag.
That's it Please Register or Log in to view images
*note: this only supports mp4 format files*
