There are times when I don't have a wifi network, but would still like to access some files and make some edits to my iPod, and I've also lately had issues with my laptop's wireless card so I was hoping to get a terminal SSH working so that I could tunnel my connection through the iPod's wifi, but all I've come up with is file managers like iFunBox and iPhoneFolders. I need a terminal solution, one where I can connect from Putty or a similar client directly. Does this exist yet? I've tried the old iPhone Tunnel suite, but it fails on the newer firmware.

    Thanks for any help!

Thanks for all the replies, but there are problems with all of them unfortunately (at least on iOS 4.1).
Since iTunnel says it will enable ssh connections I tried that first but got a bunch of errors. I'll post these later when I get back to my computer.
The other problem is that iphonebrowser doesn't seem to have a terminal session option, and seems exactly the same as iFunBox (if I'm missing something let me know, but I couldn't find it).

    Thanks again guys!

Idk if you can activate it on the ipod touch, but for my iphone I turn on tethering so it creates a local network with my mac and I use the ip address and ssh in, transfer protocols go about 3MB/s

you need to install ad2usb (or something similar) for ifunbox to work and i'm not sure it does on the new idevice.
