This might be a dumb questions, but in order for me to SSH into my Touch, I will need to install the OpenSSH package first? Because I tried SFTPing into my Touch, and it always refuses the connection ...

    Thank you!

Yes. You should install OpenSSH first and start the sshd server.
If you use the method in the method of the following thread http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5887
It will install the installer.app and ssh for you automatically.
Otherwise you should install OpenSSH from installer.app.

i'm pretty sure you don't need anything to "start" it. as long as openssh is installed, you're good to go. just use a ftp program (that allows you to use ssh/sftp) and log in to your ipod from there.

Tap the SSH button and SSH Preference page will show.
In the page, you can slide the button next to OpenSSH to on status.

I think the button only appears if you installed the services.app -

    Open SSH change password

In SSH on my ipot below the SSH on / off button there is a notice that says "New Password, Changed after Application closes." Does this mean when I SFTP into the touch again I should not use the password "alpine." Just wondering because I can't log into the thing anymore.

Thanks in advance for any help.
