Okay, whenever I get WinSCP up, and the window says "Network Error: Connection Timed Out," I've seen a lot of people posting about having SSH running. Is the OpenSSH app on your home screen, or is it somewhere else, because I don't know if it's running or not!

Are you using the correct password and username?

Using the IP address from your ipod?

Do I use the password I input into the Terminal, or do I still use "alpine"?

I copied and pasted the IP address, put my username as root, and tried out both my new password and alpine. Gives me the same message for both...

Your ipod touches IP address is under Settings > General > Wifi > Then click the blue arrow next to the wifi your connected too and it will then show your iPods IP address.

Believe thats where it is located. Cannot tell right now as my iPod got stolen a couple days ago.

Yes, I used that exact IP Address and used those 2 usernames in WinSCP, and I still get the problem.

I'm asking if OpenSSH is an app that can be viewed on the home screen, and if it is, I don't see after installing it 3 times.

Make sure OpenSSH is properly installed.

    In WinSCP, the...

    username: root
    password: alpine
    IP: (Insert iPod's IP)

Make sure your "auto-lock" for your iPod is set to NEVER. If it locks it could interrupt your connection.

    Any luck?

EDIT: OpenSSH is not an app that you can open up. It's either there or it's not.

Get SBSettings from Cydia and have OpenSSH installed and toggle it in SBSettings a couple times see if that helps.

I have the Auto-Lock set to NEVER, I followed everything in Steven's n00b guide, read all the pages, and still get nothing.
