    Hey guys!
I'm not sure if this is an illegal topic, if it is please don't infract me, just lock this thread immediately D:
I want to SSH into my friends iPhone just for fun.
I just want to scare him, because his life practically revolves around the thing. I have an iPod touch so I can vouch for him i guess

But how can I get into is phone from my PC?
What do I need to know?
    I doubt he's changed his root/alpine or whatever the defaults are for a 3G/OS 3 J/B'd phone.
Again, just lock this thread if its illegal D:

As long as it is jailbroken and has OpenSSH installed (and he hasn't changed the password) you can SSH into by typing in it's IP address (ask him to borrow it for a second

). If you have a laptop, bring it to his house and hide BUT TURN ON KEEPAWAKE so his internet stays on. Mods, if this post is illegal, I'll be willing to delete it.

So, what software would I use to access it and what would the defaults be? Thanks for response.

Edit, in "Winscp" there is host name, username, and pass.
so if username is ip address and pass is alpine, what is the host name?

bwahaha i got it to work on my iPod.
All I need to know is, since I'm using an iPod, how will he find his IP on his phone if he's connected to 3G?

if you have to ask these questions, i dont think you should be playing in someones iphone. learn what your doing first before you kill his iphone by accidently screwing up some file. youtube will show you how to ssh and test it on your ipod before playing with his iphone.

he needs to be on wifi. you can switch him to wifi and use a theme in cydia that changes the wifi bars into 3G symbol. he wont be able to tell.

when you ssh an ipod it looks the same as sshing an iphone. files all work the same. i have been in ipod touch 1g, 2g, iphone 2g, 3g and they all look the same.

this is funny. The kid I'm doing this to thinks he's the "iphone master" of our school, any time someone has a problem with their touch of phone the go to him. around 20 kids have payed him to JB their devices (He charges like, $30 a pod or $40 a phone. rediculous)
But any time something doesnt work he comes to me.
And now im about to "hack" his device. The irony is so thick you could cut it with a palm pre! LOL if anyone gets that...
Edit oh wow im leading him down a trail here
Im actually getting him to install open SSH
