I have a new jailbroken 1.1.2 touch and all is working fine so far. But I have an icon called SSH now, it lets me turn SSH off and on but nothing more. Not sure why it's there as it looks like all other Touch's don't have it. Do I need it, if not is there a way to get rid of it. I guess I'm just confused .....

I jailbroke my 1.1.2 but never enabled the "SSH" tick button while jailbreaking. I went ahead and jailbroke it anyway.

I have installed OpenSSH and have had no icons appeared.

Does this mean my SSH is always on,and will this cause any problems? (Doesn't seem to have so far)

SSH is how you can add games, roms, themes, etc that are not on the installer. It allows you to connect with the ipod T through a wireless connection using an app like cuteftp pro.

Here is a video to show you how:

Sorry I should have been more specfic in my original questions. I know what SSH is used for and I know it's required for FTP access but my quesations was about the icon itself. I have never seen icon on anyone's touch until mine.

    I just hid the icon.

You can do it from Customize.

SSH (Shell) is a network protocol that allows data to be exchanged over a secure channel between two computers. In this case, your computer and your Ipod.
