help. when i install things via installer, the apps appear on the springboard, but when i ssh them in, they dont appear on the springboard. they do however appear in apps like poof in which app they are listed as visible. the thing is that they are not! i tried restarting springboard via reboot and summerboard. i also did a hard restart several times to no avail. all permissions are set and i am running 1.1.4. help would be greatly appreciated as this is my umpteenth i have restored and i was almost done setting up my ipod with all my apps. thanks in advance.

[update] i hid the supposedly visible app with poof.app and then went back and made them visible again. the apps were subsequently displayed on the springboard. however, does anyone know why this happens? it is very inconvenient and i dont want this problem to lead to others in the future. i still want to know how to fix the springboard problem instead of finding an easy way out. anyone else experienced my problem with the springboard before?

So thank you for posting your solution, it worked for me as well.
