I do not own a webcam.

    BUT

Wouldn't it be possible to use VNC to access a webcam from a computer and then view it on your iPoT?

You would have the ultimate spies tool.

You would have to download a VNC program on their computer and have it running without them know at that time, then you would have to open up their web cam program but, I guess you could technically 'spy' on someone.

Buy a few webcams, place them around your house and BAM!

Anywhere with WiFi is now anywhere that you know your home is safe.

now what would really be sick, is if you could come up with a VNC type of tunneling and connect to your home computer from anywhere, and from your computer, you could stealthily connect to your webcam and watch streaming webcam on your ipod touch. you would have to make both an ipod touch client and a computer server. you can do this through regular VNC now, but not without having a webcam window open on your PC to view on your touch. would be awesome if you set up a webcam somewhere else in your house and could keep an eye out via your touch

I believe awhile ago I read about some security cams that hook up to your router over Ethernet and then if you go to an ip address or sign up for a domain, it streams the footage. This also wouldn't require your computer to even be on either.

This is what I am trying to do. I have tried using VNC, and I tried using BeFree. however, when the video window is open, all i can see on my iPod is a black window. Has anyone had any luck?
