Spotlight Problem

    Does anyone elses spotlight not find apps that are in categories. Anybody have a fix?

    You cant find apps that were hidden in spotlight.

    Not unless you remove them from Categories; what Categories and SBSettings do to hide apps is to plug them in to SpringBoard's custom block list for apps, which uses the Restrictions framework (Parental Controls). It now thinks that the app is disabled, because it is.

    Oh okay thanks, at least that makes more sense to me now. I thought it was just a bug.

    so the fix to this would be the mod the parental restrictions? my other thought was that its an issue with spotlight frameworks. i was looking around the other day, and i found the frameworks for spotlight, but since im not a dev, i couldnt make ant sense of any of it. but im sure someone will either make a mod to the parental controls, like you mentioned above, or a mod to the frameworks.

    Just download SpotBright from cydia and it allows you to search your hidden apps. It also add six most recently used apps to the spotlight search menu thing. Its aim is to basically turn Spotlight into Quickgold.
