A wide variety of sports-related applications are now available on the iPad App Store.

    ESPN ScoreCenter ($4.99)

If game-specific apps aren't your bag, ESPN ScoreCenter provides a sickeningly constant feed of sports information. Drilling down for specific game scores on your iPhone was one thing, but the columns, panes and frames here are almost too much.

    MLB At Bat ($14.99)

Lets you watch games live, just like the iPhone version, but for games you can't watch for licensing/blackout reasons, it'll basically simulate them. Also: Stats overload.

    NBA Game Time Courtside (Free)

Imagine having a full, interactive dashboard for every basketball game you watch. It's like that.

    NHL.com
    (Optimized for iPad)

Although not an application, NHL.com is now iPad optimized:

I love the streaming video directly inside of the application. I think it's worth the price

I had a chance to use the MLB app. It is well worth the money, plus it's in-app streaming. UI is absolutely amazing.
