I've been searching the net for some good hours but no luck. The old Spite no more works and I don't want to get stuck on the apple logo (like most people get on the old Spite / Spire) and restore! The only method seems to be the 3.0 version of Spite available on the VIP of TechNetec... but that costs money! The repo is not free! I hope I didn't lost Siri forever :| Btw I'm on an iPhone 4 5.1.1 (9B206) . Another alternative may be iSoftJsc's Sara but it is overloaded, very slooow and does not have Siri's integration. Could you please tell me how to get any SiriPort on my 5.1.1 untethered (absinthe) jailbreak? Thanks in advance.
Never use Spite, it installs all files overwriting the old ones so you can't uninstall it without a sure bootloop. SiriPort just copied Spire's source code one day, now poorly maintaining it themselves, getting outdated and causing bootloops. Spire should be updated soon as we now have a jailbreak for the 4S on 5.1.1.
Spire was not yet updated for 5.1 and we should wait for 5.1.1??? And everyone says it'll never work on 5.1.1!
It isn't about the jailbreak; it was because there was an un-encrypted version of the 4S IPSW that apple hosted. They don't do that anymore... Personally if you can find a working version of spite, then install a spire deb and replace all of the files with the 5.1.1 ones from a spite deb and then reboot. Nothing gets overwritten and it would work exactly how Spire does. Untested but I will when I get home in about 5 hours...
We still won't get an updated version of Spire for 5.1.1. We got Spire for 5.0 because Apple gave us an open filesystem available for download that was unencrypted. Using a DYLD Cache (main Siri file) from a jailbroken 4S and giving it out to other people is the illegal distribution of files. You may argue, but I own this device and I can do whatever I want with it, but that is far from the case. Can I give out Skyrim's main game files, because I own it?
Here it comes!! [Ac!D]Siri from Bassam Kassen (or something like) and it perfectly works on 5.1.1 Tested by me
