To those that are nervous as I was, I just want to let everyone know that by following the stickies and heeding their words, I just jailbroke my iPhone on 3.1.3.

I was lucky and got a 3.1.2 3gs in February and was using blackrain without an issue. But I wanted to be able to let the battery keel over without needing to be near a PC. I wanted an untethered jailbreak like most do. I was hesitant to do this new one because I hadn't hit the "make my life easier" button quick enough. When I did it mine was signed 3.1.3, even though I was running 3.1.2 because Apple quit signing them.

Anyway, I backed up through Rock and also backed up all inside iTunes. I had to restore (no, using upgrade won't work, it's not the same thing. Restore rewrites everything which is needed if you have previously been jailbroken)to 3.1.3 and then let iTunes rstore my last backup.

Once that was done I ran Spirit, launched Cydia, and installed Rock and others. I launched Rock and logged in, then ran my backup. You can also tell it to NOT install some things here. I did this to things I never used.

So all working perfectly, jail broken and all using 3.1.3!!! Follow the guides the people here have written and you will be fine. Then thank these guys for their hard work, as I am heading off to do now.

Yeah, I knew it worked too but I was just really, really nervous and thought my story may help ease some minds for the guys who were also still on 3.1.2...

must be a software problem. Do a DFU Restore and use Spirit again.

Actually I don't think it is. Spirit erased all my photos the first time so I restored and rejailbroke with the new Spirit and I have the same problems as before except it didn't delete my photos.

Well i dont have that problem on my 3GS and 3G .

So i still think it might be a Software problem, you shoudl really try DFU Restore, chose in iTUnes "handle as new iphone" and do NOT use a backup. And use the "fixed" Spirit. Should work.

Hmmmm. Well I'm not sure if I'm willing to loose all my save data. I'll just wait for 4.0 and be happy with no pictures until then.
