    screwed for b1ackrain. but backing up my shsh lets me future downgrade to my backed up FW. so nowadays i have an 3.1.3 FW with untethered spirit JB. i dont see any reason to downgrade to 3.1.2. but it is IMHO

    No worries man, I hit the restore button. The update key only introduces new data to your previous firmware. If you are considering restoring, don't forget to backup through iTunes!

    On a side note, i'm sorry I can't help some that have been asking questions. I wish I had the same problems so that we could work them together. For now, the instructions I laid out were only from what it took me to JB. Let's give this JB some more time and surely your questions will be answered.

    So let's say that for some uncommon reason, Stevie has a gun to my head and dares me to restore to 3.1.2; can I restore successfully without any problems..?

    in my case i backed up my 3.1.3 shsh and i can calmly downgrade it to 3.1.3 and jb with spirit

    Nope, something came to mind though, do you have the setting on to allow iTunes to open when your iPod is connected to your PC?
