3rd gen 32gb - Went from 3.1.2 to Spirit Jailbreak
I downloaded some appps but they are just blank icons saying Waiting...
I cant delete it or anything.
Can I just click restore in itunes to get set it back to 3.1.2, then redo the Spirit jailbreak? The cydia back up request thingy is still pending

When you get apps from cydia, they don't do the same thing as the AppStore apps.

Restore to 3.1.3 and re-jailbreak with Spirit.

iTunes will let you upgrade no matter what.

It is recommended you do, but you don't have to.

im not sure but i think ownerofspam said if you shift click restore to 3.1.3 firmware, youll upgrade but wont loose the jailbreak. i highly doubt it though.

Don't post this kind of misleading information. You WILL lose the jailbreak. Restore to a fresh 3.1.3 firmware, then re-jailbreak with Spirit.

No, I think he said if you shift-click restore, you won't use your unlock.

He's not talking about Cydia apps he's talking about app store apps. Try downloading the apps on your computer and sync them to your iPod.

Good to know I'll be remembered for something, I'm just not entirely sure it's clear what it's going to be yet haha.

If you have APP STORE apps you want to keep, you can shift + click update to 3.1.3 to keep them. If you have a chance to SSH into your device beforehand and grab copy's of all the applications you want in your application folder (root/applications.XXXX) that are jailbroken apps, you can SSH them back in.

If you shift click restore using a custom firmware for 3.1.3 that doesn't upgrade the baseband, you'll never lose your unlock. Stock firmware will ALWAYS erase an unlock.
