To be fair, I actually got Spirit working flawlessly now.
I still have some questions about problems I encountered during my journey.

    Long story short:
iPod Touch 3G 8GB running on 3.1.2 tethered with blackra1n.
I decided to try out spirit, after all the positive feedback it got on this board, at least by people who got it working.

So I restored to 3.1.3 and ran spirit 1.1.
I did have Windows 95 compatibility mode, as spiritjb.com suggested.

Jailbreaking only took a few seconds and I was stumped. It rebooted in no time. What surprised me even more was; NO CYDIA!
So I ran the program again, and again. (yes I did try windows 98 mode) I also tried spirit 1.0.

No success, no matter what I did.
I downgraded back to 3.1.2 and got a whitewashed iPod (white screen) with iTunes stuck at "verifying update with apple".
Yes, I was in DFU mode.
Yes, I added the line in hosts file so apple connections are redirected to Cydia.

I yanked the cable, forced a reboot and got back into my iPod.

Tried restoring again, which worked this time.

Now, on 3.1.2, I tried spirit 1.0 in windows 98 compatibility mode.
    First now it worked.

    My questions to you;
    1. Why did Spirit refuse to give me cydia while on 3.1.3 with Spirit 1.1?
    2. Why did my iPod whitewash during the downgrade?
    3. Is it just me, or is Spirit still in a rather unstable state?

    Cheers

To answer #3, yes, spirit is very stable, I highly doubt comex would have released it w/o testing it.

I have successfully Jailbroken two iPod touches (On 3.1.3) with no errors (unless you count me forgetting to put it in win98 an error) The only one I have ran into problems with...... is yours.

Hey I have a question for you. When you upgrade to 3.1.3 to run spirit do you lose anything?

Weird... did you downgrade to 3.1.2 and had it working after that?

Also, I was and still am on 9.1, not 9.1.1 =/
Obviously, using 9.1 is not a problem, nor is using 9.1.1...

I have the 3.1.3 firmware and couldn't downgrade to 3.1.2
    But...
    Good news:

I tried to jailbreak on Mac and ... VOILÁ! Jailbreak with Cydia. ALL OK!

It seems to be a problem with the Windows version of Spirit.
