Hi there, I can't seem to find a fix for this particular error, every time I try to run Spirit I get this message:

I've tried running it in every compatibility mode available, running it as administrator and deleting the .exe and redownloading. Every time I get this same exact error.

If anyone has any ideas please feel free to pass them along, thanks!

    P.S.
Trying to jailbreak a 2G iPod Touch running 3.1.3 on Windows 7 with iTunes 9.1.0.79 installed.

EDIT: For anyone having the same problem, it is solved here: http://www.theiphoneguru.net/2010/05/02/fix-problems-with-spirit-jailbreak/

    Oh sorry
    I didnt understand your post
    enjoy

    BTW
why would you even run spirit on a 2nd gen device?
You are better on using redsn0w, as it is a more complete and stable jailbreak for 1st and 2nd gen devices

Oh, I don't know, it's been awhile I guess and I saw "untethered", "2nd gen" and "3.1.3" all in the same sentence and just went with it lol.

Is redsn0w tethered? Also, I thought by usuing redsn0w you lost all your info?

I've been doing this since almost the very beginning but at times I drop out, hence my low post count and all that.

I posted a solution in the Spirit Released thread, one second
    ------------------double post merged------------------
That wasn't exactly a second, but 30 minutes...

    Copy the file c:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\libeay32.dll to c:\Windows\System32\ and retry.

I am not saying spirit is not good, it is great for what it was meant to (untethered 3rd gen devices on 3.1.3 and ipad)

Redsn0w is better for 1st and second gen devices, because it is more stable, and more complete (already installs afcd2 package for usb browsing etc.) and gives you the options of custom boot logos and verbose boot which is great btw
    ------------------double post merged------------------
Yep it is untethered for 1st and second gen devices
You dont loose any info, you can just jailbreak without restoring

Note: Since you already jailbroke your ipod with spirit, there is no reason to use redsn0w, just get the afcd2 thing from cydia
