I found this on Macworld. http://www.macworld.com/article/142793/2009/09/ipodtouch3gspeed.html It looks pretty promising - the apps they tested opened in about half the time as the 2G.

I've noticed rotation is alot smoother, as is the closing/opening spring animations

yup i noticed these when i compared with my friends iphone 3G. Considerably faster when rotating on the side. Also my games looked a bit smoother, but hardly anything to affect the game itself.

I know that iPod Touch 3G is faster than iPhone 3G, but didn't know how slow iPhone 3G really was until today... it's so slow ^^ compare to iPod Touch 3G, love it's speed =]]!!

Im posting from my 3g and web browsing is almost as fast as on my PC. Its barely worth to get my ass off the couch to use my pc browser for basic surfing.

doubt you could browse as fast as your pc, you are using half duplex 54mbps 802.11b/g which is essientially half the speed of 54mbps depending on how far you are away from your AP. nothing beats ethernet connection..

Cant wait for apple to unlock the 802.11n support on these devices, we could achieve significantly faster speeds over wireless.

    hence the word Almost.

half duplex isnt much different when browsing pages that are all text, like forums.

Very pleased with the general speed increase overall.
