Look through the settings And there is probably an option to listen on speakers or Headphones.I don't own one nor do I know. Just a suggestion.

ye tried that. Went into settings-general-sounds and there's only one volume bar there to adjust.

    theres nothing about speakers/headphones

you probably just have to play the music with no headphones plugged in.

^volume for the headphones and speakers is the same thing, just make sure no headphones are plugged in and play a song

ok done that, but still doesn't work. Sound works when I put headphones in though. I'm guessing speakers don't work?

yeah that could be your problem. Ask on Yahoo Answers. Or actually ask the person who has the 2G iPod. Or go to Best Buy and look around.
