Ok, so recently I've had this problem with my iPod 2g. The problem is when I plug in earphones, the songs don't sound completely messed up, like the vocals are weak and it's fuzzy and just wrong. So I played it out of the in-built speaker, and it played fine, so thought it must be the earphones. But , just to make sure, I tried 2 more pairs of earphones & to my shock, it was still messed up

But the weird thing is, when I press down the bottom right corner of the iPod ( ie where the earphones go in) it plays fine, but when I release it messes up again

Does anyone know exactly what the problem is & if there's a DIY fix?

Maybe try making sure the EQ is off while the headphones are in? Settings > Music > EQ > Off

If it's corrupt, would it sound like the same on my Laptop as it does on my iPod (ie dodgy)?

if the file on ur ipod corrupt then it would sound dodgy, if on the laptop it doesnt then thats the good one. if both are then they both corrupted. Btw is it just one song?
