You're not going into DFU correctly

Make sure ipod is plugged into comp. Hold down home and power buttons for 10 seconds (power button is at top of ipod and home is the circular button below the screen). release power button and continue to hold the home button for 10 seconds and release home button after the ten seconds. Itunes will pop up and tell you that it is in recovery mode. Ipod will apear as if it is off. Then use quickfreedom to jailbreak.

If you're running windows, go to Control Panel>System>Hardware(tab)>Device Manager
Scroll down to the bottom, expand(+ button) 'Universal Serial Bus controllers' And the 1st one should be 'Apple Recovery Device (DFU) USB' (Or something similar)

That's if you put it in DFU correctly.

    1. Try another usb port
    2. Is your volume turned up to hear the chime (sorry, had to ask)
    3. Does Itunes give you any message?
