    there is no way to reduce the file size without cropping/making the image smaller!

    or reducing the image quality!!

    ^I second this.

    The last option is only possible with a JPEG Image, but the iPod obviously requires png.

    Actually I was kidding. But I see no way to reduce your filesize without blurring/pixeling your image and that would look ugly.

    to reduce the file size, instead of pressing save go to file>save for web. That will compress the file.
