HI! okay I am a confused nub as my username says.
I am thinking about buying an iPod Touch after christmas if I get a lot of $$$ other wise I will save up.
So I have a few questions.

I will be getting the "newest" generation and all that jazz I have read a little and noticed that it isn't jailbroken yet. But I do not grasp the concept of jailbroken. I read it can't support outside Apps. Does this mean from the iTunes store, or other sources. What kind of Apps are there? When I was reading in the App section, I could not distinguish which were for the iPod and which were for the iPhone. I wish I could get the iPhone I want the camera, I am thinking it has one? LOL! Okay...... I just want my iPod to entertain me as much as possible.

edit: Okay are there any "hidden" fees. I experienced a bill or two in my direction from my cellphone I am laughing at my self right now for asking this because I am guess no, but for the Apps are there any charges after the "purchase".... and my second question is what is fixedware 1.1...etc?

    Thank you in advance.

There's a lot of things you can do via jailbreak.

You can install emulators, themes, and mess with system settings.
There are also some random (yet cool) apps to fool around with.

That's pretty much everything in a really small nut shell.

Pretty much. Jailbreaking allows you to do a lot with your Touch, but you don't really need it. Just some users have had their iPods for a while and want something new for a change and want to customize it.
