iPhone 3GS some questions about the iphone 3gs

    i'm going to jailbreak a iphone 3gs tomorrow and i have some quick questions. i have searched but cannot get the answers i'm looking for.

    Q.1 can i just jailbreak the iphone and not unlock it

    Q.2 do i need the sim card for the jailbreak

    1) Yeah you can jailbreak without unlocking, unlocking is just an added benefit of jailbreaking if you choose to do so.

    2) I don't see why you would need the sim card in to jailbreak, as the jailbreak process is mainly done when the phone is not technically booted up properly. (I think thats what you meant in the question, if its not, I'm sorry)

    Wouldn't be smart to jailbreak someone elses 3gs, since they don't know how to use cydia and what to do when there 3gs bricks

    There Are so many things in cydia, have you ever just hit new posts and sat and looked at how many people who don't know what they are doing make simple mistakes

    he his a very cautious person and if i tell him not to touch something i know he will not. thanks for the concern though. he was worried about when all those people's iphones bricked when they forst came out but that was due to unlocking not jailbreaking?........................sudeki300

    Jailbreaking is completely safe if you don't start messing around with stuff you don't know how to use. Even if you do mess something up, 99% of the time, the issue is fixed with a simple iTunes restore.
