I have been trying to get leopard on my Laptop, this is my laptop: http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-pavilion-dv6324us-turion/1995-3121_7-32401548.html

Here is the description for the iso I downloaded because I don't think I can link to it
When I try to boot into this I think I get a kernel panic. It freezes and these are the last two lines of text.

    Code:
    AppleNForceATA: data phy reset done
    AppleNVIDIAnForceATA: NVIDIA MCP51 IDE (CMD 0x1fo, CTR 0x3f4, IRQ 14, BM 0x3080
Does anyone have any idea of how to get past this? I have had a lot of difficulty with root device errors and I think this supports my computer and would really like to get into the GUI

Yeah, don't use that installer. Kalway is much easier to use imo.

I agree, and I also took a long time to get my Hackintosh to work, but now I'm running 10.5.4 with the Vanilla kernel and all the latest updates. One important part of my install was patching my Kalyway 10.5.2 Intel/AMD DVD with this patch:

    http://chameleon.osx86.hu/file_download/8/Kalyway-10.5.2-Chameleon-1.0.11-JMicron-fix.zip

Get the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD and try booting it, if it doesn't work, patch it with that patch and THEN boot it, and if that doesn't work, come back here and I'll try to help you out : )

    I'll try that. Thank you.
Do you know a place where I can get like 10 blank DVD's? Not the big packs.

Er.. not 100% sure, I usually get a pack of 25 and it lasts me a while, but I've only seen them sold in singles, and packs of 25 and 50 at pretty much any computer/office store.

That's quite a lot of filesharing...

Anyways, that Kalyway DVD is the correct one I believe.
