    Hello there,

Today I used my iPod for a bit, just like normal, and put it down for a bit, then came back and noticed that it hadn't gone to the sleep mode or whatever, so I pressed the home button and nothing happened. I did it a few times and it wouldn't happen, so I thought I'd just restart it, using one of the boot programs I'd used to jailbreak my iPod touch. For some reason, it was having a lot of trouble doing it unlike usual. It would get to the part where it would need me to unplug then plug it back in, and the screen would go white. But that just wouldn't happen. After about a solid hour of trying, the computer just began not even detecting the iPod, and gave me the USB device is not Recognized or whatever. So basically The device is stuck off, and everytime I try to go into DFU mode, the PC just tells me my USB device isn't recognized. I've spent about 4 hours looking up guides and downloading numerous other jailbreak programs and a DFU helper, and none of it has worked. Does anyone reckon they could help me at all?

    Cheers.

By tethered, does that mean I need to re-run the jailbreak boot thing each time the battery runs out or I turn it off? Because if so, then yes.

Don't you have to mess around inside of the iPod to brick it? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Pro tip: Bricking is when a device is rendered unusable by software means only.

no bricking is a hardware thing and just something like dropping it can do it

No I'm not using Blackra1n, I found the software from some guy's youtube video around halfway through last year and haven't had any problems with it until now.
